Forest land is any area larger than 0.5 hectare (about the size of a soccer field) that has trees taller than 5 meters and a canopy (tree cover) of more than 10%. This includes not just large forests, but also tree belts, windbreaks, and tree corridors—as long as they’re wide enough (at least 20 meters) and cover enough area.
